When the organization began, the team was hand-reporting on paper everything from case referrals to notices to appear and sanction responsibilities. Additionally, PCYC struggled to demonstrate its true impact as all reporting was done manually, taking days to compile because they had to go through each individual case to create a tally sheet for those helped. This greatly limited the organization’s ability to scale and widen their impact within Philadelphia.
Outcome: How Casebook Helped
With more streamlined operations and better data collection, PCYC has been able to expand into new schools – both within the Philadelphia School District and in Charter Schools – to see approximately 875 cases a year, and work with a wider range of vendors to make a greater impact on the community.
